Why did you choose to go to wcta?

"I chose to attend WCTA because it was the best option for my education and my field of work. I want to be a marine biologist and environmental science was the closest I could get."

Why did you try out for the WCTA archery team?

"I tried out for the archery team because I wanted to try out a sport and West only has archery and cheer. I didn’t want to do cheer so archery was my option. I enjoy archery a lot and my dad is a bow hunter so it was very interesting to me."

Do you enjoy your program of choice?

"My program of choice is environmental science and it is my favorite class. We do all kinds of fun projects in that class and learn all about ecosystems and so much more. Although it is a laid back class I learn a lot in it and almost everything we do is interesting to me. I would never change my program to any other, and not just because we have so many field trips!"

Do you have any regrets of attending WCTA instead of a normal public high school?

"My only regret of coming to West Career and Technical Academy is the workload. I wasn’t expecting the workload to be as hard as it is. I have a solid 3-6 hours of homework every day giving me almost no life outside of school. I know it was smart to come to a magnet school but I wasn’t prepared for what was coming. Nevertheless I would not want to switch back to a public school because I know this is what is best for my future."
