I think a major obstacle I’ve had to overcome is running for Key Club secretary. Although before then I did hold officer positions in other clubs in middle school, this wasn’t even close to the scale that Key Club was. For one, this was high school. A lot more people are judgemental. Being a freshman, it was hard to jump over that hurdle and say “I can do it.” Being a freshman, you’re basically at the bottom of the food chain. You really have you build your way up and socialize with more people and that’s what I did. I showed that I’m capable of taking on such a big role. After I won, it was almost like validation. I’ve lost a lot of things, like officer positions, in the past Winning secretary definitely confirmed that I could do anything that I set my mind to.
