I was lucky enough to be awarded the opportunity to attend a 3 day expedition on a skipper, sailing across Lake Michigan. This sail boat, Inland Seas, occupied 5 crew members and 9 girls, counting myself. We all became family instantly. The whole point of that trip was the study the marine life in the lake, and to get a better understanding of different micro-organisms and invasive species that live in the waters. Sailing across waters and being free with people who enjoy science and other interests of mine was an unforgettable experience and something I wish to pursue in my future.
