I would say that the overall biggest hardship that I’ve faced is my parents divorce. I was old enough to remember, but just barely smart enough to understand. It makes more of an impact on me looking into the past, because I see how messed up it all was, and how people tried to manipulate and lie to me. If anything, it did help me with understanding conflict between two people, and being able to help the conflict between them. However, there was a downside to the experience, and that is that I now have some pretty deep rooted trust issues. That tends to happen when the two people you love and trust the most have two different versions of the truth. In the end, it’s something I would have preferred not to happen, but I took a lot out of the experience. It could have been a lot better, but compared to other things in this world, it could have been a lot worse.
