Tanya is a freshman at West Career and Technical Academy in the business program. She

chose business as her primary program because many of her family members are employed in

the business industry, which has motivated her to follow a similar career path. Tanya hopes to

apply her skills and knowledge learned in her program to become a successful independent

leader within the business world. She is specifically interested in becoming either an accountant

or a CEO within the business industry. Tanya’s biggest influence in her life is her father. Tanya

stated, “my biggest influence is my dad because he’s a very hard worker and such a caring

person.” Her father is what inspires Tanya to continue working hard in order to successfully

enter the business industry and earn her dream job. Besides her ambitions for her future career,

Tanya enjoys reading and cooking in her free time. She specifically stated that her motivation to

complete her work is to spend more time doing the hobbies that she loves, rather than spending

said time completing work that she’d rather not do. As for her family, Tanya has her mom, dad,

step-dad, one half brother, and one dog. Tanya mainly aspires to attend Oxford University for

college, majoring in business and minoring in criminal justice. When I had asked her to describe

herself, she stated, “I’m a caring, hard-working, confident, lively, and ambitious person.” This is

the story of Tanya, a human of West Career and Technical Academy.
